My Christmas List
With the holidays closing in and pandemic relapsing, millions of people find themselves in a predicament of the gravest concern. With bills piling and the hopes of children resting on the future events, one can not help but question the possibility of success.
Falling under this category myself, I have and still am struggling with the idea of a Christmas drought.
As I forfeited my job of 14 years due to the pandemic, so I can stay home with my children as they need guidance in their distant learning. My wife, pregnant with our third, trudges on to work daily whether rain or shine and any feelings of discomfort. I would have preferred reversed roles in this situation, allowing her a home to rest in and lacking the stress of a corporate role, but her career is blossoming to great lengths where mine was tainted with disease and addiction.
We have two amazing children who deserve the world just as their mother does and I lie awake at night contemplating the thoughts on how I can provide it for them during these times. Staying at home I cook and clean, bathe and govern, but financially that is of little help. Sure the unemployment provided due to the pandemic is something but it’s not nearly what we need to survive.
